Welcome to the
Products Lab
We help companies take their products and services forward. From hyper-growth startups to Government agencies, we ensure you build the right product, driven by and for your customers.
Core Services

User Research
Understanding users is key to driving product growth and retention. Taking qualitative research to something tangible we can design, test, build and ship is a key criteria for our success. Core processes & outcomes may include:
- Product discovery
- Feature feedback
- Customer / user workshops
- General customer exploration
- Service & journey mapping
- ‘Task to be done’ discovery

Workshops
Our collaborative workshops are facilitated to extract data and knowledge from users / customers. We also facilitate ‘internal workshops’, allowing product leaders to explore and define their product visions, strategy and tactics.
These workshops form a crucial exploration phase allowing us to move a product forward with hyper-contextualised insights and understanding.

Prototyping
Generally complete as a follow-on task from research / workshop phases, we build high-fidelity prototypes of software products. These are prototypes, designed to run natively on your web or mobile are a super efficient way to validate your products and ideas.
If a prototype is accepted (by users or stakeholders), it can then form a useful part of the product build documentation.

Design & Brand
We work with some great UI and graphic designers that can help bring brands and style ideas to life. When it comes to the branding / graphic design behind a product, we offer a service to generate brand guidelines, component libraries (UI Design) and brand aligned graphics. These inclusive and robust libraries can then streamline any further work you wish to do with simple drag and drop functionality.

Funding
We have helped early stage projects raise money from VC’s, Research Centres and Angel Investors. Having seen many early stage projects in funding phases, we can assist in getting the correct product presented to the right audience. We generally help review pitch decks, narratives and polish the critical demo aspect of presentations. We are also happy to do introductions to VC’s or other funding avenues.

Documentation
Writing well structured product documentation can be burdensome; but it is also a key factor of achieving product success. From Product requirements, user documentation, roadmap items, sprint planning, epics and user stories, we can help structure and write these ‘go to’ items. While we do offer this as a potential stand-alone service (PM role), we generally generate documentation as a bi-product of completing other services.
We have been fortunate to work with some of the world’s leading Enterprise products and also some really exciting start-ups. From a semi-state energy utility, to one of Europe’s fastest growing FinTechs; we cater to each client and project as required, ensuring customer success.

Our Work
We believe in truly getting immersed with our clients and their customers – this is mission critical.
We believe in ‘getting it right’. Products are hard, it’s rare the perfect product is generated on a first try! But we endeavour to stick with our guiding principles of understanding the user and iterating on evidence based research with prototype testing and acceptance – until the job is done.

How We Price Our Work
We cater for short and long-term projects with companies big and small. As such we generally estimate our pricing on a per project basis after an exploratory meeting. For larger projects, we may conduct a stakeholder workshop to truly grasp your requirements and understand your product needs. As a guide, our projects may fall somewhere into these categories.

Feature Development
- € – Day rate
This generally covers work relating to feature-level research and design. For example, the extension of an existing product to satisfy a given customer persona. A sample project in this category is generally well defined and compressed. An example may include the following:
- Existing product / feature analysis
- Customer workshops and synthesis
- User journey & story documentation
- Feature proposal and documentation
- High-fidelity prototype and validation
- Testing, acceptance, documentation

Product Development
- € – Per project rate
This service may be a new product offering or innovation project on behalf of a business unit. In these cases, we can either work autonomously or integrate within an existing team. This work might include the following:
- Market and user analysis
-
Customer workshops and synthesis
- Product documentation (PRD) and OKRs
- Roadmap and delivery timelines (Epics)
- Product specification, testing and prototype
- Team integration & product build

Early Stage
- € – Day rate and/or equity (optional)
As the name suggests, this is work generally offered to early stage teams. We will always find a way to balance your requirements with funding timelines or other resource constraints. We endeavour to put a helpful scope and streamline on the project to avoid ‘service creep’. An example from a previous client includes:
- Customer research / persona development
- Single MVP journey (incl. prototype)
- User testing of a single journey (eg onboarding flow / checkout etc)
- Product preparation for fund-raising
